Our Waters
A one acre pool on the outskirts of Congleton, Goodwins Pool is the Society's premier water containing Roach, Rudd, Bream, Carp, Perch, Gudgeon, Chub and a small Catfish. Goodwins Pool is the venue for all our junior angler events, a Tuesday evening summer league, fund raising matches and a number of club matches.
Knypersley
Reservoir
A large reservoir on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent that holds large shoals
of roach and bream in addition to specimen carp and pike. Congleton Anglers are
part of the consortium that own the rights on this water.
A 35 - 40 peg stretch of the canal between bridges 68 (Buxton Road, Buglawton) and 66 (toward Macclesfield) that was acquired in September 2001. This stretch will be used as an alternative match venue to Goodwins Pool for both the juniors and seniors in coming years.
A prime stretch of the T&M which we acquired in October
2002. The stretch will take about 35 pegs and is a known hotspot for catches of
quality roach. The "Romping Donkey" stretch.
Congleton Town Centre
Somerford Park Farm
A 15 peg stretch of the river where the predominant species are Chub, Dace and Grayling.
